Politique de confidentialité
Dernière mise à jour : 28 août 2026
Pour des raisons de validité juridique, le texte légal ci-dessous est fourni en anglais.
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Remit ("we", "us" or "our") collects, why we collect it, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to the Remit website and services. By using Remit you agree to this policy.
1. Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information. Your email address, and a password if you do not sign in with Google. If you use Google sign-in, we receive your basic profile information such as your email from Google.
- Content you create. Your company details and logo, your client records, and the documents you produce with the Service.
- Usage and device data. Basic technical information such as your browser type, device, general location inferred from your IP address, pages viewed and actions taken, collected to keep the Service secure and to improve it.
- Cookies and similar technologies. Small files and identifiers used to keep you signed in and, in future, to measure traffic and serve advertising, as described below.
We do not collect payment card details, because the core Service is free.
2. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Provide the Service: sign you in, save your companies, clients and documents, and generate your PDFs.
- Keep the Service secure, prevent abuse, and diagnose and fix problems.
- Understand how the Service is used so we can improve it.
- Communicate with you about your account or important changes.
- Send you marketing emails about Remit itself, from us only, which you can opt out of at any time.
- Where we introduce advertising, to display and measure ads and to support the free Service.
- Comply with legal obligations.
Where the law requires a legal basis, we rely on performing our contract with you (to provide the Service), your consent (for non-essential cookies and advertising where applicable), and our legitimate interests (to secure and improve the Service).
3. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies in the following ways:
- Essential cookies. Required to keep you signed in and to run core features. The Service does not work properly without these.
- Analytics cookies. Where used, these help us understand traffic and usage so we can improve the Service. They may be provided by third parties.
- Advertising cookies. If we introduce advertising, our ad partners may set cookies to show and measure ads, including personalised ads where permitted. You will be able to manage these through a cookie notice or your browser settings.
You can control cookies through your browser, and where required we will ask for your consent to non-essential cookies before setting them.
4. Email and marketing communications
We send two kinds of email. Service emails are about your account, security and important changes, and are part of using Remit. We may also send marketing emails about Remit and its features. Marketing emails come only from us. We never share or sell your email address to third parties for their own marketing, and every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link so you can opt out at any time. Where the law requires your consent before we send marketing, we will ask for it.
5. Advertising and affiliate links
To keep the core Service free, Remit may display advertising and may include affiliate links. Third-party advertising networks, such as Google, may use cookies and device identifiers to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites, and to measure their performance. You can learn about and opt out of personalised advertising through the settings those providers offer, such as Google Ads settings and industry opt-out pages.
Some outbound links may be affiliate links, meaning we could earn a commission if you make a purchase, at no additional cost to you. This does not change what we recommend, and we do not sell your personal information to advertisers or affiliates.
6. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in these limited circumstances:
- Service providers. Trusted providers who help us run the Service, including our hosting and database provider (Supabase) and authentication (including Google sign-in). They process data on our behalf under appropriate safeguards.
- Advertising and analytics partners. Where advertising or analytics are enabled, limited data may be shared with those providers as described above.
- Legal reasons. Where required by law, regulation or valid legal process, or to protect the rights, safety and property of Remit, our users or others.
- Business transfers. If Remit is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
7. Where your data is stored and transferred
Your data is stored securely with our infrastructure provider and is protected so that only your account can read your Content. Documents are generated in your browser and downloaded by you. Our providers may process and store data in countries other than yours; where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
8. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we must keep it to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes or enforce our agreements.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including access controls so that only your account can read your Content. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so while we work to protect your data we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. You can view and edit much of your information directly inside the app. To exercise any right, or to have your account and data deleted, contact us at admin@remitbill.com. We will respond within the time the law requires.
11. Children
Remit is intended for businesses and adults. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Third-party links
The Service may link to third-party websites and tools that we do not control. This policy does not apply to those sites, and we encourage you to read their privacy policies before providing them any information.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Service evolves or as the law requires. We will change the "last updated" date above and, for significant changes such as introducing advertising, we will take reasonable steps to notify you before those changes take effect.
